During the summer vacation of May 2003, 17,500 boys and girls of the BAPS Bal and Balika Mandal, divided into 4,800 groups, visited 475,000 homes to convey the message of Pramukh Swami Maharaj on how to create an ideal family.
These dedicated youngsters devoted 20 days of their vacation period to this noble project, sacrificing other leisure activities. These courageous and disciplined children were welcomed by families as messengers of God, sent to guide them in resolving their family problems.
There were also instances where these children were ridiculed and had to deal with hostile people. Despite all this, they remained calm and composed, and earned much respect for their disciplined behavior.
In general, most families appreciated the message the children discussed with them, namely: to hold a daily family assembly, eat together at least once daily, stop all addictions, attend satsang assemblies and offer daily prayers. The children also inspired them to not to waste water. As a result, many vowed to undertake positive steps to make their family ideal.
The entire campaign was a resounding success.
