Visits of special ones are not merely an event of a person coming and going. They leave you filled with memories and wisdom. On one such fortunate event, Ms. Rupa Mehta, in charge – Doordarshan Ahmedabad visited campus on 4th Aug 2017.
She was on campus to be a part of Celebration to mark 4 events:
Rakshabandhan (9th Aug), Independence day & Janmastami (15th Aug) & Sanskrit Day (16th Aug) which coincided with the vacation on campus.
The event started with prayer and Siddhantganam. After thought of the day, news and pledge, the event was introduced. Janmastami was celebrated with a beautiful raas-garba performance by students of class 6B. This was followed by a beautifully sung patriotic song by students.
Traditional Bharat Natyam dance was performed by students on a Sanskrit song “Ayagiri Nandini”. Grace and perfection defined performance of students which enchanted everyone.
Principal, Ms Gurbir Kaur addressed the addressed the assembly and welcomed the Guest. Post this, Certificates were distributed to winners of Patriotic Song competition. Ms. Rupa Mehta addressed the students here.
In her flamboyant style, she appreciated the students for their performance and said how it reminded her of own school days. She also pointed how students should feel the pride for being at this campus and take this opportunity to rise above the rest and shine brightly.
A special Gujarati song commemorating wonderful bond of brother and sister- Kon halave limbdi- was performed by students. After this, a special skit was performed by students in the Sanskrit language. The actions and theatrics of students were so accurate, the students enjoyed the skit even though it was performed in Sanskrit. After this, teachers also sang a bhajan “ Hindorname hore hore jhulo maharaj” to mark Hindola Parva simultaneously.
Teachers talk was carried out on unity and then a special performance by teachers was done to display the strength of unity. Later, Dr. Neeta Shah emphasized on unity and the events being celebrated today. With that, students rose for the national anthem and dispersed to their respective classes with sweet memories of this event.
