Chaturmas, the four holy months during which devotees undertake extra special observances. During the month of Shravan, out of the nine types of Bhakti, Shravan bhakti has been given importance by Bhagwan Swaminarayan.

Every year during chaturmas, a three-day mahila parayan is held in various centers across the African continent. More than 1000 balika, kishori, yuvati and mahila attended the three-day mahila parayan in more than 13 centers from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and South Africa.

Throughout the three days this year, the yuvatis and mahila discoursed on the topics: Manaviya sabhandho margdarshak – Yogiji Maharaj, Pramukh Swami Maharaje apelo parivarik ekta no upay and Gharne mandir banaviye. Pramukh Swami Maharaj has said ‘Sab dardo ki ek dawa Ghar Sabha.’ From this innovative idea, the women devotees learnt how Ghar Sabha is an important aspect of every satsangi family’s home schedule, since it brings a family together in devotion and helps them remain united, peaceful and happy.

Delegates also learnt about the ‘Apratim Sneh (Kindness), Nishtha (Determination) and Bhakti (Devotion) Laduma of Akha, Fuliba and Ajuba of Dholera and Udyakuvarba of Visnagar : the women devotees of the times of Bhagwan Swaminarayan had towards him and how they can also attain the same in their lives.
