Every swing tells a story of devotion.

Rooted in centuries-old tradition, the Hindolo festival marks a beautiful season in the Hindu calendar when God’s murti (sacred image) is placed upon an ornate swing, symbolizing a physical manifestation of a devotee’s love for God.

As we gently pull the string of the Hindolo, we are reminded to synchronize the rhythm of our lives with the will of Bhagwan. Each gentle push of the hindolo reflects our desire to keep that divine connection in motion, reminding us that devotion is not static; it is nurtured with ongoing love, selfless service, and sincerity.

In celebrating Hindolo festival, we celebrate the joy of keeping our hearts constantly moving toward the divine. From intricate beadwork to vibrant florals, these ornate swings are our way of saying, “God, every skill I have is yours.”

📍Visit your local BAPS Mandir to experience the beauty of the Hindolo season.

The doors to deeper devotion open today. On the auspicious day of Devshayani Ekadashi, we begin the sacred period of Chaturmas. As Bhagwan Shri Vishnu begins his yogic sleep, it is our time to awaken our inner selves through discipline, introspection and spiritual growth.

Following the guidance of HH Mahant Swami Maharaj, let us use these next four months to:
• Strengthen our spiritual observances
• Discipline our bodies through fasting
• Engage in additional devotional practice and reflections
• Purify our minds through selfless service

May this holy season inspire us to live with greater devotion, compassion and awareness.
