His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj has sent a letter of condolences and prayers to the Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints following the passing of President Russell M Nelson. It reads:

Dear Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,
On behalf of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha and our worldwide fellowship, we offer our deepest condolences on the passing of President Russell M. Nelson at the age of 101. His departure is a profound loss to your faith, community and to all who were touched by his remarkable life of service. I offer prayers of peace and comfort to his beloved family and to the global membership of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
President Nelson will be remembered as a devoted spiritual leader, a compassionate healer, and a steadfast guide to millions. His lifelong commitment to faith, moral living, and service to humanity resonates deeply. His example as both a distinguished surgeon and a spiritual shepherd stands as a powerful testament to humility, wisdom, and dedication to God.
Over the years, BAPS and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have cherished a warm relationship, built upon mutual respect, shared values, and a common commitment to faith, family, and service. This bond of friendship between our communities continues to inspire harmony and understanding in a world that deeply needs both.
At this difficult time of mourning, we stand in solidarity with you all. May the blessings of God sustain you and may the memory of President Nelson be a guiding light to future generations.
With heartfelt prayers and respect,
Jai Swaminarayan from Sadhu Keshavjivandas
(His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, Spiritual Head, BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha)

A Day of Joy and Gratitude: Welcoming Over 5,000 Visitors to Our New Premvati and Aksharpith →

A new chapter of spiritual nourishment and community service began in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, with the grand inauguration of Premvati and Aksharpith at the BAPS Akshardham Mandir campus on Sunday, July 19, 2026. By the grace of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and the divine inspiration of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, the opening ceremony marked a meaningful milestone for the region, introducing a dedicated space where devotion, culture, and purity seamlessly converge for the local community and visitors alike. Jodhpur, widely celebrated as the Sun City, is a vibrant and welcoming historic city known for its majestic architecture, strong sense of community, and deep-rooted cultural heritage. Within this dynamic landscape, the BAPS Akshardham Mandir continues to serve as a vital centre for spiritual, cultural, and community development, inspiring individuals toward value-based living. The inauguration ceremony was traditionally performed to sanctify the newly built premises and invoke peace, harmony, and spiritual positivity. It symbolizes a sacred new beginning for the mandir’s offerings. The event brought together community members in collective prayer, featuring traditional rituals for the purification of the space, as well as prayers for the well-being and prosperity of the local community, the state, and the nation. Following the sacred rituals, the doors of Aksharpith and Premvati were officially opened to the public. Aksharpith serves as an inspiring spiritual bookstore and cultural centre, offering a wide array of literature, traditional artifacts, and wellness products. It is aimed at preserving Hindu traditions, heritage, and values, allowing individuals of all ages to deepen their spiritual understanding and carry the mandir's peaceful aura into their daily lives. Complementing the spiritual knowledge offered at Aksharpith is Premvati, a dedicated Swaminarayan vegetarian food court. Premvati embodies the principle of sattvic living, offering a dining experience that is 100 percent pure vegetarian. Adhering strictly to the traditional dietary tenets of the Swaminarayan faith, every dish is meticulously prepared without the use of onion, garlic, or asafoetida (hing). The inaugural day witnessed a remarkable and joyous turnout. Throughout the day, an estimated 5,000 visitors from every corner of Jodhpur arrived at the mandir campus to participate in the milestone event. The gathering was a true reflection of the mandir's role as a place of harmony and inclusivity, welcoming people of all backgrounds to experience its serene environment. The community’s response to Premvati was overwhelmingly positive. Visitors were delighted by the exceptional taste and high quality of the food, noting that the traditional recipes were rich in flavor despite the intentional absence of common culinary staples like onion and garlic. From comforting traditional Indian meals to carefully crafted contemporary snacks, the offerings were highly praised. Furthermore, families expressed great appreciation for the remarkably reasonable pricing, which ensures that this wholesome, pure dining experience remains fully accessible to all members of the community. Guided by the vision of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, BAPS volunteers and staff are continuously inspired to actively serve the community. This spirit of selfless service was on full display during the inauguration. Despite managing a continuous crowd of thousands, the volunteers exhibited remarkable patience and an exceptionally polite demeanor. Their humble behavior and warm hospitality resonated deeply with the visitors, elevating the divine experience of purity and taste. By providing both spiritual wisdom and pure, sanctified sustenance, the BAPS Akshardham Mandir in Jodhpur continues its enduring mission to foster peace, harmony, and holistic well-being for society at large.
