Connect with the Divine
Prayer and Rituals
Hindu worship and rituals provide meaningful ways to express devotion, deepen one's connection with the Divine, and cultivate inner peace. During your visit to the Mandir, you may observe or participate in practices such as darshan, arti, abhishek, and the receiving of prasad.
Each of these sacred traditions is intended to foster reverence, gratitude, spiritual discipline, and a deeper connection with God.
illuminate your devotion
Arti
Arti is a devotional ceremony in which a lamp with five flames is waved before the Divine while devotees sing prayers. The light symbolizes the illumination of knowledge and the warmth of devotion. Arti takes place several times a day and is one of the most vibrant moments to experience in the mandir.
Centering God
Pradakshina
Pradakshina is the practice of walking clockwise around the shrine as a form of reverence. Each circle is a quiet reminder that God is the center of one's life. It can be done 5, 7, or any odd number of times and is as much a meditation in motion as it is a ritual
cleansing the soul
Abhishek
Abhishek is a sacred Hindu ritual in which water is ceremonially offered over a murti while prayers are recited. This act of devotion symbolizes humility, gratitude, and the purification of the heart and mind.
As worshippers perform the ritual, they offer personal prayers for themselves, their loved ones, and the well-being of all. Abhishek serves as a reminder to cultivate purity, compassion, and a deeper connection with God in everyday life.
surrendering to god
Dandvat Pranam
Dandvat pranam is a full prostration - lying flat on the ground as an offering of one's entire self to the Divine. It is an expression of deep humility and surrender, and one of the most heartfelt gestures in Hindu devotion.
