BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute Australia, through its centres across the Pacific region, organised the 2026 BSRIA Conference titled “Timeless Teachings from Hindu Gurus.” Held across BAPS centres in Australia and New Zealand, the conference was attended by more than 6,500 people, including devotees, youths, families, community leaders, invited guests and representatives from various organisations.
The conference explored the timeless role of the Guru in Hindu tradition and highlighted how the Guru guides individuals towards moral, intellectual and spiritual growth. Centred on the sacred verse “Gurur Brahma, Gurur Vishnu, Gurur Devo Maheshwara, Guru Sakshat Parabrahma,” the program reflected on how the Guru creates noble values within a person, nurtures their spiritual journey, removes inner weaknesses and ultimately leads them towards God-realisation.
A significant feature of the conference was the strong participation from the wider community. Representatives from 191 organisations attended across the Pacific region, along with nearly 600 community guests, reflecting a shared appreciation for Hindu values, culture, learning and spirituality. Their presence added depth to the conference and highlighted BSRIA’s ongoing role in bringing together diverse community groups through dialogue, education and cultural understanding.
Through inspiring speeches, devotional presentations, panel discussions, videos and cultural performances, the conference presented the Guru not only as a teacher, but as a divine guide who shapes character, strengthens faith and transforms lives. The teachings of Hindu gurus were shared in a way that connected ancient wisdom with the challenges of modern life, making the message relevant for all generations, especially children and youths growing up in today’s fast-changing world.
The conference also showcased the ongoing educational initiatives of BSRIA, including online courses introducing young learners to Hinduism and the Bhagavad Gita. These initiatives aim to help the next generation better understand Sanatan Hindu Dharma, its values, scriptures, traditions and relevance in daily life. Inspired by the guidance of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, BSRIA continues to support learning, research and cultural understanding across the Pacific region.
