In January 2004, H.H Pramukh Swami Maharaj inaugurated BAPS Shri Swaminaryan Mandir, Secunderabad.
To mark the 20th anniversary of this momentous occasion, celebrations were held at the mandir from 1 to 13 January 2024 in the presence of Pujya Bhaktipriya Swami (Kothari Swami), and other senior swamis from throughout India. The main events organized included:
2 January
A felicitation assembly honoring the dignitaries who have actively render voluntary services to society.
3 January
A fun-filled carnival games zone for children. The evening assembly enlightened the balaks and balikas on the exemplary virtues of the children of Akshardham.
4 January
A melodious kirtan aradhana by swamis and youths.
5 January
Women’s assembly on the theme of ‘Women Empowerment Through Mandir & Satsang’ that included folk dances, skits and inspiring speeches.
7 January
In the morning, seated around 64 yagna kunds, 700 yajman couples participated in Vedic Mahayagna for World Peace.
In the evening, Atmatrupt Swami addressed the assembly on the topic ‘Man ko sthir kare – Mandir’, highlighting the importance of mandirs in daily life.
8–10 January
Senior swamis presented enlightening discourses to strengthen faith, dedication, devotion and other values.
12 January
The festivities concluded with the celebration of 20th patotsav of the mandir, and consecration of the murtis of Bhagwan Ram-Sitaji and Bhagwan Shiv-Parvatiji.
In celebration assembly, swamis shared their spiritual experiences and a video compilation of Pramukh Swami Maharaj at the Mandir was shown.
