Devotees at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Edison, NJ, were overjoyed at the news of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj’s arrival at the mandir on the day of his departure to India. The mandir was adorned beautifully for this significant occasion. Upon Swamishri's arrival, the atmosphere was charged with excitement and joy. The devotees, deeply engrossed in darshan, found a profound sense of peace and spirituality in his presence. Pujya Haridarshandas Swami welcomed Swamishri with a garland. Swamishri observed the mandir and then consecrated the holy charnarvind of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, to be placed at the site where the murtis of Shri Akshar Purushottam Maharaj were previously situated in the former mandir. Thereafter, Swamishri performed arti. Swamishri then blessed the assembly joyfully. His jovial mood uplifted the spirits of all present and fostered a sense of communal harmony.
On the inauguration invitation card for the mandir in 2019, Swamishri had initially chosen the option 'I will definitely come.' He not only fulfilled that promise but also checked and signed a new option that read, 'I will be here forever.' In an interesting turn of events, Swamishri was initially scheduled to fly to India from Philadelphia airport. However, due to some logistics issues, it was decided that he would depart for India from Newark airport. This change in plans allowed Swamishri to visit BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Edison, NJ, fulfilling the wishes of many devotees. His presence became an unexpected blessing for the devotees and will leave a lasting impact on them for years to come.
