Hundreds of people have been affected and a large number lost their lives due to the tragedy of the suspension bridge over the Macchu river at Morbi, Gujarat. At the very moment of this unfortunate accident, while the rescue efforts were going on all around, Subhash, a volunteer of the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, Morbi, immediately jumped into the water for rescue operations without a moment's delay. Due to his presence of mind, Subhash saved six people alive from the water while two others died after being brought out. Within a few moments, the swamis and volunteers got involved in rescue operations and other services at a rapid pace with the inspiration of Param Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj, the spiritual head of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. Param Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj expressed his sympathy for the families who have lost their relatives in this tragedy by offering heartfelt prayers at the feet of God. By his inspiration, a relief kitchen has also been started by the BAPS Swaminarayan mandir. BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha has also arranged food for military personnel and others involved in the rescue operation.
મોરબી દુર્ઘટનામાં મહંત સ્વામી મહારાજે બચાવ કાર્યવાહીમાં સંતો-સ્વયંસેવકોને જોડ્યા
મોરબી ખાતે મચ્છુ નદી પરના ઝુલતા પુલની દુર્ઘટનાને કારણે સેકડો લોકો મુશ્કેલીમાં મુકાયા અને ખૂબ મોટી સંખ્યામાં લોકો મૃત્યુ પામ્યા એ ઘટનાથી સમગ્ર ગુજરાત કમકમી ઉઠ્યું છે. આ કારમી કમનસીબ દુર્ઘટના ઘટી અને ચારે તરફ ચીસાચીસ અને બચાવો બચાવોનો કલશોર ચાલી રહ્યો હતો તે જ ક્ષણે આ અફરાતફરી વચ્ચે જુલતા પૂલની સાવ નજીક આવેલા બીએપીએસ સ્વામિનારાયણ મંદિરના સ્વયંસેવક શ્રી સુભાષે એક પળનો પણ વિલંબ કર્યા વિના તુરંત બચાવ કાર્યવાહી માટે પાણીમાં ઝંપલાવ્યું હતું. સુભાષની આ સમયસૂચકતાથી તેણે છ વ્યક્તિને પાણીમાંથી જીવતા બચાવ્યા હતા અને અન્ય બે વ્યક્તિને બહાર લઈ આવ્યા પછી તેના મૃત્યુ થયા હતા. થોડી જ પળોમાં બીએપીએસ સ્વામિનારાયણ સંસ્થાના આધ્યાત્મિક વડા પરમ પૂજ્ય મહંત સ્વામી મહારાજની પ્રેરણાથી સંતો અને સ્વયંસેવકો દુર્ઘટનાગ્રસ્ત લોકોના બચાવની કાર્યવાહી તેમજ અન્ય સેવાઓમાં તેજ ગતિએ જોડાઈ ગયા હતા. પરમ પૂજ્ય મહંત સ્વામી મહારાજે આ દુર્ઘટનામા જેમણે સ્વજનો ગુમાવ્યા છે એવા પરિવારજનો માટે ભગવાનના ચરણોમાં હૃદયપૂર્વક પ્રાર્થના કરીને સહાનુભૂતિ દર્શાવી છે. સાથે સાથે તેઓની પ્રેરણાથી બીએપીએસ સ્વામિનારાયણ મંદિર દ્વારા રાહત રસોડાનો પણ આરંભ કરાઈ ગયો છે. બચાવ કાર્યવાહીમાં જોડાયેલા લશ્કરી જવાનો અને અન્ય લોકોને પણ ભોજનની વ્યવસ્થા બીએપીએસ સ્વામિનારાયણ સંસ્થા દ્વારા કરવામાં આવી છે.
