From 4.00 to 7.00 p.m., the Vedic Khat Vidhi (Foundation Ceremony) for the new BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Dar-es-Salaam was performed in the presence of Priyavrat Swami and resident swamis of Africa.
In total, over 700 devotees and well-wishers took part in the Vedic ceremony, which was smoothly managed by more than 125 Volunteers.
After the rituals, Priyavrat Swami addressed the assembly stressing the importance of the new mandir, and offered prayers for its swift and successful completion.
Reflecting their devotion, many devotees pledged to personally undertake various observances as their individual prayer until the new mandir is completed.
Before departing, all the devotees and well-wishers offered their devotion by laying a consecrated brick in the main foundation pit.
