BAPS Mandirs across the United States joined in the nationwide COVID-19 Memorial Tribute organized by the Presidential Inauguration Committee to remember and honor the lives lost to the pandemic. Mandirs in Robbinsville, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, and Chicago were illuminated for five minutes in unity with cities, communities, nonprofits, and other religious places of worship at 5:30 pm (local time) on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
The local events coincided with a Washington, D.C. ceremony featuring a lighting around the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
Many members of the BAPS community from across the country also participated by lighting candles with their loved ones from home to reflect and honor those lost to the Coronavirus pandemic.
