Balika Parayan, a traditional annual discourse that sings glory of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Guru parampara was held for young girls from ages 6 to 14 across North America in an effort to offer their devotion and showcase their talents. The theme of the parayan was “Let’s Jump for Samp!” Throughout the program, the balikas took the word samp (unity) and broke it down into 4 qualities that help imbibe sampSahan karvu (tolerance), Anukul thavu (flexibility), Mangamtu mukvu (letting go of personal wishes), and Pote ghasaavu (helping selflessly).
Balikas narrated incidents in Gujarati about how these concepts were exemplified by their gurus, HH Pramukh Swami Maharaj, and HH Mahant Swami Maharaj. The balikas and parents were pleased with the parayan and learned more about incorporating satsang values from a young age into their lives.
