A cultural program, with the theme of “Leela Charitro Na Sambharana”, was conducted by the women of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha as they celebrated Swaminarayan Jayanti (the 234th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Swaminarayan) as well as Ram Navmi (the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Ram).
Bhagwan Swaminarayan himself has explained in Vachanamrut Gadhada I-3, “Even one who can constantly see the form of God in his heart should recall the divine actions and incidents of God performed in His various avatars in various places.”
By recalling such divine actions from the life of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Bhagwan Ram throughout the program, attendees were left with a sense of serenity and peace. The occasion was celebrated with great fanfare and devotion as children and adults alike showed their devotion through skits, traditional dances, and discourses. As devotees were immersed in the festive atmosphere, they ended the program with video blessing from His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Pramukh Swami Maharaj is an example of someone who constantly recalls the divine actions of God as he puts Bhagwan Swaminarayan at the forefront of everything. It is he who inspires his devotees to do the same and so with this message he is able to give his devotees a sense of tranquility and joy in their lives.
