Uttarayan, the vibrant and joyous festival of kites, is celebrated with great enthusiasm at BAPS Swaminarayan Vidhyamandir in Randesan. The campus comes alive with the cheerful laughter and exuberance of students as they gather to commemorate this auspicious occasion over two days, on the 14th and 15th of January 2024.
 
The terraces of the Vidhyamandir transform into a colorful spectacle as girls take to the skies with their kites, skillfully maneuvering them against the backdrop of the clear blue sky. The gentle breeze carries the fluttering kites high above, creating a mesmerizing dance of colors and shapes. The atmosphere is filled with the infectious energy of competition and camaraderie as the girls showcase their kite-flying prowess.
 
Not only limited to the terraces, the celebration extends to the ground where a carnival-like atmosphere prevails. The entire campus resonates with the joyful shouts of triumph and friendly banter as the girls engage in kite battles, showcasing their dexterity in the ancient art of kite flying.
 
As part of the festivities, the girls indulge in a delightful spread of traditional treats. Chiki, a sweet and crunchy delicacy made from jaggery and sesame seeds, adds a touch of sweetness to the celebration. Khajur, or dates, symbolizing the harvest season, are savored for their natural sweetness and nutritional value. Sugarcane, a quintessential winter treat, adds a refreshing and juicy element to the festivities, making the Uttarayan celebration a wholesome and joyous occasion.
