More than 175 children and over 100 youth volunteers from Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Loughborough and Nottingham gathered at the picturesque Beaumanor Hall in Leicestershire on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 June 2026 for Samp Camp 2026 – the largest gathering of children in the camp's history. Set amid the beautiful Leicestershire countryside, Beaumanor Hall once again provided an idyllic setting for two memorable days of sports, team-building and friendship. Building on the success of previous years, Samp Camp focused on nurturing samp (unity), strengthening friendships, and creating cherished memories among children from across the region. The camp began with blessings and motivational messages from swamis of BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Leicester. Drawing upon the teachings of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, the children were encouraged to support one another, build new friendships and embrace the spirit of samp throughout the camp. A wide variety of activities kept the children energised and engaged throughout the day. Football and cricket were joined by pedal go-karts, carnival games and exciting inflatable attractions, including a bouncy castle and a thrilling one-on-one obstacle course. The range of activities offered something for everyone and filled the grounds of Beaumanor Hall with excitement, smiles and laughter. Reflecting on the experience, one young participant shared, “I loved being able to play so many different sports and activities with my friends. The inflatables were so much fun, and I also made new friends from other centres.” Another child added, “Samp Camp is one of the days I look forward to the most. Everyone comes together, and it feels like one big family. Staying overnight with my friends made it even more special.” The record attendance at Samp Camp 2026 reflected the growing excitement surrounding the annual event. The dedication and enthusiasm of more than 100 youth volunteers helped ensure that every activity ran smoothly and safely, while creating a warm and welcoming environment for all. One youth volunteer reflected, “Seeing more children than ever before enjoying the camp together was incredibly fulfilling. The energy throughout the day was amazing, and it was rewarding to see new friendships being formed.” As the summer excitement continued, a friendly water fight provided a refreshing and joyful finale to the day's outdoor activities. For the older children, the adventure continued with an overnight stay featuring additional games, team-building challenges and friendly competition, before concluding the following morning. Samp Camp 2026 concluded as another resounding success. With its largest-ever attendance of children, the camp brought together young people from across the region in a spirit of unity and friendship – inspiring samp, strengthening lifelong bonds and creating cherished memories for all.
