Sthambhas
The pillars depict Hindu deities, sages, and devotees who have contributed to the richness of Hindu thought and practice. These great personalities inspire us to cultivate universal values such as honesty, empathy, non-violence, and devotion to God.
Mandovara
The exterior surrounding wall of the mandir has several tiers of ornate carvings. Each inch of stone is carved thematically, at times several inches deep, depicting stories of devotion and life.
Gavākshas
Ornamental windows through which the enshrined deity gazes out to watch over the world and bless devotees.
Ghummat
The majestic dome. The beautiful marble chandelier in the middle of the dome is a keystone that holds all the interlocking stone pieces together and keeps the large dome in place.
Chhats
The highly ornate, intricately hand-carved stone ceilings that cover the various halls and walkways of the temple. The carvings feature elaborate geometric patterns, repetitive floral motifs (most notably the lotus, which symbolizes purity and spiritual awakening), and sometimes delicate figures of deities or celestial beings.
Dhajas
The flags symbolizes a soul that has successfully traveled the path of righteousness, climbed past the distractions of the material world, and completely transcended maya (worldly illusion). It represents the state of becoming Aksharrup—pure, untainted, and elevated above the dualities of joy and sorrow, success and failure.
Kalashes
The golden pots on top of the shikhars that signify the immortality of the soul.
Shikhars
The pinnacles that tower into the sky are the ultimate physical manifestation of human and spiritual aspiration. It stands as a profound visual reminder of the soul’s innate yearning to transcend the earthly plane and reach for the divine.
