On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima on 5 July 2020, Guruhari Param Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj presented the ‘Satsang Diksha’ text as a special gift to the BAPS Satsang community.
Written by Pragat Brahmaswarup Mahant Swami Maharaj himself in Gujarati, ‘Satsang Diksha’ is a concise text which forms a part of the voluminous ‘Akshar-Purushottam Samhita’. In ‘Satsang Diksha’, based on the teachings of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, Mahant Swami Maharaj concisely describes the philosophical principles to be understood and the daily personal practices of devotion and duty to be undertaken by all BAPS devotees.
At the wish of Mahant Swami Maharaj, the Gujarati prose has been presented as 315 Sanskrit verses composed in the ‘anushtup’ metre by Bhadresh Swami, a distinguished and decorated Sanskrit scholar of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. These verses can be sung in various styles, from which Mahant Swami Maharaj has selected the ancient Vedic Krishna Yajurveda style. Hence, the Sanskrit verses sung in this style are presented here for download.
The 315 verses of the ‘Satsang Diksha’ have been divided into six sections, each called an ‘Udgaan’.

‘સત્સંગ દીક્ષા’ ગ્રંથના શ્લોકોનું ધ્વનિ-મુદ્રણ
‘સત્સંગ દીક્ષા’ ગ્રંથ એટલે સ્વામિનારાયણીય સત્સંગનું સાર-દોહન. પરબ્રહ્મ ભગવાન શ્રી સ્વામિનારાયણથી લઈને તેમના અનુગામી ગુણાતીત ગુરુવર્યો સુધીની પરંપરાએ વેદાદિક શાસ્ત્રોના દોહન રૂપે આપેલ આજ્ઞા અને ઉપાસનાનું સંક્ષિપ્ત નિરૂપણ એટલે ‘સત્સંગ દીક્ષા’ ગ્રંથ.
પ્રગટ બ્રહ્મસ્વરૂપ મહંત સ્વામી મહારાજે ગત ગુરુપૂર્ણિમાએ આ ગ્રંથ શ્રી અક્ષર-પુરુષોત્તમ મહારાજનાં ચરણે ધરીને સમગ્ર સ્વામિનારાયણ સત્સંગ સમાજને તેની અદભુત ભેટ આપી છે. તેઓએ ગુજરાતી ભાષામાં લખેલા આ ગ્રંથને, તેઓની આજ્ઞાથી, બી.એ.પી.એસ. સ્વામિનારાયણ સંસ્થાના વિદ્વાન સંત ભદ્રેશદાસ સ્વામીએ સંસ્કૃત શ્લોકોમાં ગુંથ્યો છે.
આ સત્સંગ દીક્ષા ગ્રંથના શ્લોકોનું ગાન અહીં પ્રસ્તુત છે. આ શ્લોકો જે અનુષ્ટુપ છંદમાં ગુંથવામાં આવ્યા છે તે વિવિધ રાગ-ઢાળ-પદ્ધતિથી ગવાય છે, જેમાંની એક પ્રાચીન વૈદિક શૈલી છે - કૃષ્ણ યજુર્વેદીય શૈલી. આ ગ્રંથના ધ્વનિ-મુદ્રણ વેળાએ પરમ પૂજ્ય મહંત સ્વામી મહારાજે આ કૃષ્ણ યજુર્વેદીય વૈદિક શૈલી પસંદ કરી છે, તેથી પ્રસ્તુત ધ્વનિ-મુદ્રણ એ પ્રાચીન અને પ્રાસાદિક વૈદિક શૈલીમાં કરવામાં આવ્યું છે.
ગ્રંથના આ ધ્વનિ-મુદ્રણને કુલ છ વિભાગોમાં પ્રકાશિત કરવામાં આવ્યું છે. પ્રત્યેક વિભાગને ઉદગાન નામ આપવામાં આવ્યું છે.
