The adornment of the murti of Bhagwan Swaminarayan / Shri Harikrishna Maharaj with sandalwood paste ("chandan na wagha") is an annual feature in Swaminarayan mandirs, during the month of Vaishakh.

In support of the national Clean India campaign, BAPS devotees have taken personal pledges to help keep their homes and neighbourhoods clean and hygienic. Thousands of BAPS devotees have participated in drives to clean their cities, towns and villages.
