BAPS and BAPS Charities make substantial contributions in the wake of natural disasters around the world. Our youth volunteers provide professional services that are instrumental to the emergency relief and long-term recovery of communities affected by hurricanes and cyclones, earthquakes, floods, and tsunamis. These youths work with local authorities and victims to provide effective and timely aid to ensure moral and physical nourishment. Thousands of youths collect funds and raise awareness to assemble resources at the site of these disasters. Lata Patel shares her experiences during the Gujarat Earthquakes in 2001: “I had never asked anyone for money before. I was thousands of miles away from the victims, but I wanted to help. I realized that everyone wanted to help. They just needed to be told how. I was able to collect a substantial amount and send it to Bhuj through BAPS and BAPS Charities.” Many volunteers remain at the site of these natural disasters by working for months to clean the rubble and rebuild lives. BAPS has not only helped the community through these youths, but it has also inspired a sense of confidence in youths, like Babu , to give back even after losing their own loved ones.
