The Pushpadolotsav Festival took place in the divine presence of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj on 23rd of March 2016 in Sarangpur. Many thousands of devotees attended from all over the world. The Pushpadolotsav utsav has been celebrated for 200 years by spraying saffron colored water and showering blessings on sadhus and devotees.
Sadhus and volunteers worked for many days to plan for the festival. A beautiful stage was designed and made with colorful peacock and flower decorations. Sadhus and devotees served night and day in departments such as kitchen, sabha planning, accommodations, and transport.
The main sabha took place at the large field next to the Swaminarayan Vidyamandir campus. The celebrations started at 4:45pm. Inspirational talks were given by Pujya Keshavjivan Swami (Pujya Mahant Swami), Pujya Swayamprakash Swami (Pujya Doctor Swami), Pujya Tyagvallabh Swami, Pujya Viveksagar Swami, Pujya Bhaktipriya Swami (Pujya Kothari Swami), Anandswarup Swami and other sadhus, before Swamishri blessed the audience with his presence. After his arrival to applause from all devotees, Pramukh Swami Maharaj performed arti of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. He then sprayed the murti of Shri Harikrishna Maharaj with colored water whilst Thakorji's murti sprayed Swamishri.
Then Swamishri proceeded to spray all of the devotees and sadhus with sanctified water. Kirtans were played as everyone was showered with divine bliss. After everyone was sprayed, Swamishri conveyed his “Jai Swaminarayan” to everyone, conveying that his health was good. Swamishri's presence at the festival, at his age of 95, inspired all those gathered there.
