Satsang in Jacksonville, Florida started in 1992 and has continued to grow over the past several years. In 2007, after the National Youth Convention that took place in Jacksonville, His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj sanctified the new mandir and murtis on July 15, 2007.
On Friday, January 11, 2013, Sadguru Pujya Kothari Swami (Pujya Bhaktipriya Swami) performed the inauguration ceremony of a new assembly hall in the mandir complex. He announced that the new hall be named “Narayan Sabhagruh”. The celebration continued with a kirtan aradhna later that evening.
On Saturday, January 13, 2013, the Murti Sthapan Vidhi of the new marble murtis began with the vedic mahapuja joined by over 600 devotees. The ceremony culminated with the placement of the divine murtis or sacred images of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, Hindu deities and the Guru Parampara. These murtis were consecrated by His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj in Amdavad, India on November 2, 2012.
In the inaugural assembly youths between the ages of 6 and 16 showed their devotion and joy through an enlivening dance. Pujya Yogendra Swami then addressed the assembly and enlightened everyone on the importance of murtis and the importance of Mandirs in our society. Pujya Kothari Swami wrapped up the divine occasion by giving the assembly his blessings and celebrating the festival of Jholi Parva.
