On 24th Mar, 2013, BAPS women volunteers visited 'Shimo la Tewa' a women's prison in Mombasa, Kenya.
The prison houses more than 250 prisoners and 25 wardens. The volunteers were welcomed to the prison with a traditional dance by the prisoners. The volunteers personally provided a meal of rice, beans, bread and juice to the prison inmates and staff. Around 300 uniforms were also donated to the prison.
The head of the prison thanked the volunteers and BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha for their generosity and kindness.
