Thousands of yuvaks at over 400 BAPS youth centers throughout Gujarat and Mumbai participated in the annual Shravan month parayans between 20 July and 17 August 2012.
Centered around the theme ‘Obeying the Guru Is Our Identity’, the youths conducted the 3-days parayans on the topics of agna, upasana, and suhradbhav. They presented speeches, bhajans, shastra explanations, video shows and other activities elaborating on these topics.
The parayans were judged by experienced satsang activity volunteers on a variety of parameters and the centers which conducted outstanding parayans in each zone were awarded prizes.
Mahila, yuvati and balika parayans were also held on a large scale during the Shravan month. The parayans were conducted in hundreds of centers, where hundreds of thousands attended these special religious assemblies, organized and conducted by the ladies wing. These annual parayans offer a unique opportunity for all age groups to strengthen their knowledge by speaking as well as listening to discourses about Bhagwan Swaminarayan, His philosophy and the guru parampara.
