As per the annual tradition, the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Kolkata celebrated the Rathyatra Festival in grand style. A decorated rath (chariot) housing the murtis of Akshar Puruhottam Maharaj, Pramukh Swami Maharaj, Jagannathji, Balramji and Subhadraji was pulled through the streets of the Bhawanipore district. At the start the Rath was pulled by Shri Jagmohan Dalmiya (President, BCCI) and other dignitaries.
The colorful procession was led by mounted horses and the Yogi Dhwani Band (BAPS Youth Band) and Pramukh Dhwani Band (BAPS Children's Band). Over 400 devotees, accompanied the procession and thousands more had darshan from various vantage points.
