BAPS - Shree Swaminarayan Mandir, Los Angeles hosted a Shradhanjali Sabha, on March 24, 2001, to pay homage to the victims of the tragic earthquake, which struck India. Over fifty various Indian organizations from the Los Angeles area united in support for this event.
Devotional songs were sung by Indian artists. Mr. Ukabhai Solanki gave an on hand report of his recent visit to the devastated areas and the BAPS rehabilitation programs.
A representative for Congressman Ed Royce read a statement on behalf of the congressman to the assembly. The statement mentioned the congressman’s recent visit to India and the BAPS earthquake relief centers in Bhuj and Amdavad, along with his meeting with the leader of BAPS, His Divine Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj in Amdavad.
Also at this occasion, the members of IDCA presented a noteworthy donation for earthquake relief work to BAPS Care International.
