The festivities and devotional celebration to mark the first anniversary of BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Leicester was held on Sunday 7 October 2012. Beginning with Vedic rituals in the morning, the celebrations concluded with the evening assembly during which all were encouraged to utilise the Mandir to progress spiritually and for peace to prevail in one’s life.

BAPS volunteers from Dar-Es-Salaam gathered goods for donation to the Malaika Orphanage Foundation Center, Kuranaga. In addition to distribution of the goods and providing food packets, the volunteers entertained the children with a musical performance, a poem recital and also played the Tanzanian national anthem.

BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, London participated once again in Open House London, the capital’s annual festival of architecture. The Mandir joined over 700 buildings, including private homes, commercial and government offices, historical sites, places of worship, educational establishments, and many others in “a celebration of all that is best about the capital’s buildings.”
