BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha

Chansad is a historic place for the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha as it is the birthplace of the fifth spiritual successor of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, Pramukh Swami Maharaj. The closest major city is Baroda, approximately 20 kilometers away, and the village has a population of nearly 2,500 people. Families living within the community have a background in agricultural trade. The Swaminarayan School in Chansad offers instruction for grades 8 through 10, to 150 students. It is funded by the Government of Gujarat. There is a technologically advanced computer lab for the students, as well as regularly scheduled English classes that are part of every student’s curriculum. The school has grown to have a high rate of graduation, and more than half its students now tend to pursue further education.
