Leadership is an important trait that needs to be nurtured among the students at young age. They need exposure, opportunity and reassurance. These traits are established and perpetuated in students through making separate houses and assigning separate duties to students. For this purpose, Investiture ceremony was held at BAPS Swaminaryan Vidyamandir, Randesan on 21st June, 2017.
Chief Guest, Shree Pankaj Gupta (Sr. VP, IL & FS, GIFT City, Gujarat), was present to award the badges and inspire them for leadership. In total, 35 students were provided with Badge of Responsibilities. They included Head Girl, House Captains, class monitors etc. (List is provided below)
The assembly was started with traditional Deep Pragatya and was followed by handing over the certificates to the students who had performed well in Hindi Balpothi Exam, International Mathematics Olympiad and Adhiveshan.
Followed by it was inspirational address by Principal, Smt. Gurbir Kaur. Being the driving force behind the activity, she provided with the clarity of thought to all the Council Members standing in front. It was followed by Badging ceremony of all Council Members.
Chief Guest for the day, Shree Pankaj Gupta addressed the ceremony. “You all are extremely lucky to live and study at such a beautiful place. The campus has a lot to offer you which we, back in our days, only dreamt of”. He also went on to narrate story of Sailor Shacklaton and leadership lessons there within which inspired one and all.
The students took oath to office from Dr. Neeta Shah, director of the campus. She then addressed the students and explained how humility and service are important and integral to leadership. The event ended with National Anthem. The students went back to their routine classes with sense of respect and duty.
