Bhagwan Swaminarayan’s most commendable contribution to society was instilling faith in God. The social environment had deteriorated to such an extent that people began to lose faith in an absolute divine element. Kali yuga was at its peak, and the perils of everyday life had disheartened many around India. Bhagwan Swaminarayan returned that faith to their hearts. He was able to show that superstition, black magic, tyranny, theft, and corrupt religious leaders were destined to be punished for their sins. The only way to prosper in this world and move to the next was through faith. He illustrated this principle to His parents, Dharmadev and Bhaktidevi, through the troubles they faced from asuras in Chhapaiya and Ayodhya. He demonstrated the same to the yogis and ascetics He met while traveling across the length and breadth of India and also to His 2 million devotees and 3,000 sadhus. He solidified their faith in Him through discourses, selfless love, and samadhis.
